So I have been away again! I’m so bad at this!
So – to a brief history about what’s been going on since I last updated. I went back up to 13 stone 3lbs (185lbs) and this was purely through not paying attention to what I was eating. Because we’re getting married in Jamaica, I have even more of a need to lose the weight as I will be in a hot country wearing bikinis and the like. I don’t want to look too much like a fatty!
So, on Monday, I started on my new diet. I decided that I needed to mix it up a little because I felt like I wasn’t getting enough food with Slim Fast. I also know that Slim Fast works really well for me because of the losses I have seen in the past.
I have added another diet called Diet Chef. It’s basically a really simple diet, which consists of shakes, soups and ready meals along with snacks and porridge or granola for breakfast. I really like it because it means that I can eat food throughout the day. I know that when most people (me included) hear about soups and shakes, they think of the awful packet stuff that you have to mix with water and then shake until you’re blue! Luckily, this diet uses natural foods which you just need to microwave. In fact, if you search Look What We Found on Google, you will find the food that they use! So the way I’m doing it is like this Slim Fast on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays and Diet Chef on the other days. Diet Chef costs £47.50 a week so this is saving me loads! I also found a load of the breakfasts, lunches and dinner at Sainsbury’s and Asda so I have saved a mint! I did buy the first week from Diet Chef though.
So Monday I weighed 185lbs in the morning and started again. I had my shake for breakfast and lunch and I actually had three bean chilli for dinner as I really fancied it.
Tuesday was my first DC day. I had Pecan and Treacle Granola with semi skimmed milk for breakfast. This was AMAZING! I loved the taste but it is such a tiny portion. Only 40g so not very much at all. I made sure that I ate it slowly so I wouldn’t still feel hungry. Later on I had a snack of a banana bar. This was quite nice but it left a bit of a strange after taste. For dinner I had an Indian feast! Bombay potatoes, saag aloo and chick pea curry. This was very filling and lovely.
That night I decided to have a sneaky weigh in. I asked my OH to hide the battery for the scales so I don’t abuse them. I really wanted to wait until next week but I wanted to see if it was working!
I weighed myself just before bed, and I was already 181lbs! That shocked me as it was before bed as well and I had eaten a drank a lot of water before. So 4lbs down in 2 days and I hope it continues!
Yesterday was Slim Fast as usual and today is back to DC.
I have already had my granola and an apple. I have a crisp snack for later and butternut squash soup for lunch. For dinner I’m going to have meatballs and maybe a little rice with it or even stir fried vegetables! Mmm… that just came into my head now so I will definitely have stir fried veggies with it!
I’ve set myself a 4 week challenge. I’d like to lose 15lbs. I think it is really possible because whenever a start a new diet, I always get a great first week loss. If I stick to it 100%, I will get there in no time! Ideally would like to lose 28lbs before we go away but as that is less than 2 months away that might be a little ambitious!
I have also booked myself in for a course of 3 Universal Contour Wraps. It is proven to remove inches for all parts of your body and it can also tone the skin. They recommend a course of three so they can remove all of the toxins from your body.
My first one is on the 18th of May. They recommend leaving at least a week in between each but I think the one after that is about 5 days later. I don’t mind though.
It works by removing toxins from the body so as I am a smoker, I should see greater inch loss! I’m really looking forward to this!
Finally (sorry for dragging this post out – a lot to catch up on), I have started doing some workouts. Basically, I got a contract role in the centre of Bristol but there isn’t any parking. So, I park just over a mile away from the office on a residential street. That means I walk over 2 miles a day which isn’t loads but it sure as hell is more than I used to do.
I have also got a DVD called Hip Hop Abs by Shaun T. This is the most amazing workout DVD EVER! He is amazingly camp but I regularly find myself laughing as he is so funny. It’s a half hour workout and it is so much fun. The time flies by and you don’t even feel like you are really working out (I had to think about it for a while when I woke up aching). I plan on doing this every day. There is also a version called last minute which is a 5 minute workout. If I can’t fit in the full length one then I will do the 5 minute one.
I’d like to this that with all of this additional exercise, I will lose weight quicker. Considering I lost 10lbs in 1 week with no exercise at all, you’d think it would be no problem!
Unfortunately, we will have to wait and see as my first official weigh in is on Monday and that’s the one that counts!
